DomainNameWire is reporting that a handful of .webcam domains starting with adult keywords has sold for $175,000.00. No word on what the .webcam domains started with but we did some research and checked on about 100 of the most typed in names for the live webcams business and almost all of those were registered with a high number of them belonging to just a few individuals.
To have this kind of value a .webcam domain would most likely have been sold to an end-user rather than a speculator considering the fact that type in traffic would be low as most internet users still type in .com, .net, or org. in the United States and local extensions in other parts of the world.
For those that are not aware of it .webcams TLD became available earlier this year. The sales figures of this vanity domain have been similar to most other vanity domains; slow overall. The most obvious end-user is the adult industry. In other words Chickens.webcam might not be a business opportunity.
